FAQ

The Panathinaikos Alliance is governed by a board consisting of nine (9) members. The board has a three-year term. Board members are elected by the General Assembly. Any regular member may become a candidate. Board members may be re-elected for two consecutive terms and is not eligible for another term. The Board comprises of the President,  two Vice Presidents, one Secretary,  one Treasurer and other members.

Net profits or surplus of the Panathinaikos Alliance are not allowed to be distributed directly or indirectly in any manner between its members. They are managed as follows: 

  • Money reserves
  • Use of funds to achieve the goals of the Panathinaikos Alliance
  • Contribution to amateur Panathinaikos with a 5% amount of total proceeds, in accordance to General Assembly voting

All members are entitled to vote in elections of the Alliance. Regardless of the amount contributed by each, all members are equal to vote and be elected. All members receive a discount on the purchase of season tickets from PAO FC, on purchases they make from PAO FC stores, have priority to participate in team events, have the right to participate in sweepstakes from PAO FC and its supporters, depending on the package purchased. It is emphasized that the larger the package one buys, the greater the benefits he or she will enjoy.

The Alliance has three official membership roles: Α) Regular Members,
Β) Honorary Members C) e-Members. Regular Members include all those members who have the rights and obligations that derive from the Panathinaikos Alliance statute - specifically, they have the right to vote and be elected. Adults of all ages, men and women, Greek citizens or persons of Greek ancestry residing in Greece or abroad, are entitled to become regular members, as long as they abide by the Alliance's mission goals.  The prospective regular member submits a written or electronic registration form, accompanied by registration fee payment. With his or her acceptance as a regular member, he or she will receive a unique username/password to access the Panathinaikos Alliance web site for immediate access to information and benefits. It is explicitly stated that all regular members are equal in regard to the rights and obligations, and that all have an equal, single vote.Honorary Members are appointed by the Panathinaikos Alliance governing body. Only people who are regular members, grand financial or moral contributors to the Alliance or prominent members of the Panathinaikos family, can become honorary members.e-Members involve anyone who does not wish to become a regular member but have made a minimum supporting donation of 20 euro to the Panathinaikos Alliance.

The Panathinaikos Alliance draws its funding from the following sources:

  1. Membership subscription fees
  2. Special contributions from members, either voluntary or after a decision from the General Assembly
  3. Revenues from fundraiser events and the sales of memorabilia, including books, CDs, DVDs etc.
  4. Donations
  5. Contributions from various sources such as public institutions or private enterprise
  6. Loans from established, recognized financial institutions
  7. Any other fund that derives from a legal activity

A financial cycle lasts a full calendar year, starting July 1st and ending June 30th of the next year. Especially for the Alliance's first year of operation, the financial cycle starts on the date the Alliance is registered in Athens primary court and ends on 30 June 2013.The obligation of an annual monetary subscription coincides with each financial cycle, regardless of the member's timely deposit or not.

The main purpose of the Panathinaikos Alliance is the promotion of the spirit, history and traditions of the Panathinaikos Athletic Club in Greece and overseas, as well as the constant fanbase growth and the promotion of fan spirit.The Panathinaikos Alliance was founded as an autonomous medium for expression, knowledge and action of all PAO fans regarding Alliance issues and athletic events in Greece and overseas. Our purpose is to represent the Panathinaikos Alliance by electing representatives to the FC's Board of Trustees. Through this coalition, positions will be created for team fans in the governing bodies of PAO.  The Alliance creates the basis for fans, as long-term members of the Alliance, to play a substantial role in the structure of Panathinaikos. Panathinaikos Alliance gives the opportunity to fans, as permitted by law, to contribute to the collaboration between FC and the Board in order to create and preserve this concrete structure of the Panathinaikos ownership.

The Board Committee meets once a month, followed by the President’s invitation, as an emergency state whenever it is required by the President or, by written request of three members, which will include the topics that will be presented during the meeting.

Certainly. Regardless of his or her contribution, each member has the right of one vote.

The minimum amount for someone to acquire membership is 175 euro. During the registration process, a document certifying your personal data will be needed, such as a police ID. It is also important that we receive your ID photo so your account can be verified during the registration process.

Underage persons cannot become members. However, anyone that is interested in supporting the Panathinaikos Alliance can become an e-member by paying a 20 euro fee. Please note that e-members do not have the right to vote during the Panathinaikos Alliance elections and general assemblies.
